Solar power continues to gain popularity across the country and is only expected to keep growing as a clean, sustainable energy source. In light of this, we wanted to provide a peek at how, from manufacturing to sales and installation and beyond, Trina delivers solar success to the U.S. market.
Innovation at the State Key Laboratory Testing Center
Our modules begin life after extensive research and development (R&D) at our State Key Lab. Here, our engineers have broken numerous records and have designed some of the most efficient solar cells and modules ever built.
Manufacturing bases in Vietnam, Thailand & Malaysia
Following R&D, we manufacture our modules from state-of-the-art facilities in Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia.
Each facility is equipped with highly automated systems to optimize and secure procurement, processing and distribution. This allows Trina to grow and diversify its production capacities for the U.S. market.
We maintain full lifecycle and product quality control, and implement robust design qualification and strict manufacturing process control across operations. During these processes, we subject our modules to rigorous product reliability testing to ensure their long-term durability.
By utilizing duty-free markets and free-trade agreements, Trina Solar’s Southeast Asian plants provide cost-effective means of delivering solar products to the U.S.
A dedicated U.S. team with a long, trusted history
Trina employs a diverse team at customer service centers and warehouses across the country, with a presence in the U.S. going back more than a decade.
Our dedicated team of experts work in engineering, sales, finance, value-added marketing, operations and more. We’ve been helping solar installers and developers deliver project success time after time.
In fact, our team has helped residential contractors install more than 1.5GW of residential Trina Solar modules on homes across the country since 2015.
At the commercial level, Trina Solar’s modules are powering a multitude of businesses across the country, from Pepsi bottling facilities to universities to Walmart stores. This, in turn, helps these companies lower their energy costs and achieve their ambitious renewable energy goals.
The Trina team has also built strong relationships with leading utilities and developers to help them deliver project success at an even larger scale. With nearly 2.5 GW of utility-scale solar deployed across the country, we’ve been at the forefront of creating a greener U.S.
Trina Solar is fully bankable and reliable
With this innovation, high quality control standards and dedicated U.S. team, Trina has built a strong reputation as a fully bankable and reliable solar company.
Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) has consistently ranked Trina Solar as one of the most bankable solar companies in the world. For six consecutive years, Trina Solar has achieved 100 percent bankability, and has topped BNEF’s bankability list for the last five years.
Since 2014, PV Evolution Labs (PVEL), an international certification body, has recognized Trina Solar as a Top Performer in its PV Module Reliability Scorecard.
But being fully bankable and recognized as a Top Performer for reliability isn’t enough. That’s why the TrinaProtect warranty program provides 25-year performance and 25-year product warranties for residential solar modules.
Commitment to sustainability
Throughout the entire lifecycle of the modules, Trina remains committed to sustainable practices in our manufacturing processes, supply chain and in the workplace.
This includes efforts to reduce both energy consumption and carbon emissions, and engage in environmentally responsible development projects. To accomplish this, we’ve implemented special programs for construction of new facilities, selection and utilization of raw materials, manufacturing and waste recycling. By August 2018, Trina reached 80% scrapped PV module recycling rates.
This commitment to environmental protections, labor practices, employee rights, business ethics and sustainable procurement earned Trina Solar a gold medal from EcoVadis, a global supplier sustainability ratings organization.
